Waves Bargello QuiltCreated Spring 2007I began this quilt with no real intentions for it. Sometimes I just like to try a new technique, and rather than play with small amounts of fabric, I like to make something more substantial. For this quilt I was trying out Bargello Quilting where you pieces strips of fabric together in a particular way to create the swirls of color. Once the top was completed, I realized I had no clue how to quilt it, so I folded it up and put it away for awhile. When a good friend asked to see it, I pulled it out and finished it with her advice on the quilting. It was a wonderful experience to quilt this piece with no worry that it would come out "wrong". It really gave me the freedom to try techniques with this wall hanging that I might not have tried otherwise.
