Quilt Trunk Show - $250 ($300) plus travel expenses
View the transformation of a quilter as I take you from my first quilt, through the learning and transforming process, and end with the quilts that fully demonstrate what you can do with a domestic sewing machine.
I consider myself a Modern Traditional quilter in the sense that my quilts are very traditionally created with trapunto and elaborate quilting motifs, but modern as well because they're all created by machine.
I focus on the limitations that most quilters struggle with: size of their machine, speed, consistent stitching, and design. I truly believe that you can quilt anything on a domestic; you just need the right tools to make it easy for yourself.

3 Dimensions of Design - $250 ($300) plus travel expenses
Most American quilters focus on 2 dimensions of design: fabric color and piecing shape, but there's actually a whole new dimension: the texture created with your quilting stitches!
Explore these three dimensions in a dynamic lecture as I take you through the quilting design process and begin to open your eyes to the amazing pallet our quilts give us for design.
After exploring quilting motifs, the end of the lecture is devoted to filling designs: the free motion quilting stitches that allow the motifs to stand out.
These filling stitches do more than just fill the background, they add an amazing texture and depth to our quilts, if only we could do more than just stipple them to death!
I'll share with you an amazing variety of quilting designs created during the ongoing 365 Days of Free Motion Quilting Filler Designs project that will change the way you quilt forever.
Quilting Beyond
the Ditch - 6 hour workshop
$550 ($550) plus travel expenses
All Skill Levels
Tired of using the same quilting patterns or stitching in the ditch over and over? Frustrated that you cant see the quilting design over a complicated pieced or appliquéd quilt?
It's time to learn how to stitch beyond the ditch! During the first half of the class you will learn how to use quilting stencils to mark beautiful quilting motifs over the surface of your quilt.
The second half of the class will be devoted to motif design. Sometimes you just cant find a quilting stencil the right size and shape, so you have to pull up your big girl panties and design it yourself! Leah will demonstrate how easy this is, even if you cant draw to save your life.
Bring a finished quilt top and your imagination! No machines are necessary.
Fantastic Filler

Are
you ready to chuck your walking foot and embrace the world of free
motion quilting? Lets free our minds and bodies with an amazing
array of free motion quilting designs!
Discover the effects of many different free motion quilting filler designs and how to apply them to your quilt much like a painter applying colors of paint. These designs add a 3rd dimension to your quilts with a unbeatable texture and depth.
Even beginner quilters will learn to do Stippling, McTavishing, Pebbling, Paisley, and an array of different free motion designs created during the 365 Days of Quilting Filler project.
Loads of demonstration time, useful tips on sewing machine setup and posture, and helpful handouts with drawings of the free motion designs to practice will allow students to go home with their brains and bodies stretched to the brink with free motion experience.
Travel Expenses
The sponsor is responsible for round-trip driving mileage ($0.50 cents / mile) from Shelby, NC or round-trip airfare from Charlotte, NC (CLT).
If flying, please factor in airport parking fees and ground transportation to and from the airport. Leah will work with the sponsor to book the least expensive fare.
Meals enroute and during engagement are calculated at $7.50 each.
When away from home for more than one evening, I prefer to stay in a hotel. However, a private home is also acceptable, if it's smoke-free, pet free, and with a bathroom for my exclusive use.
Important: I require high speed Internet access in the hotel or home where I stay.
Long distance travel beyond the state of North Carolina will include an extra $100 fee.
