Dear Frustrated Quilter,

Are you tired of your seams never matching up? Are you sick of seeing your triangle points blunted? Do you wish you had the confidence to tackle curved seam piecing?

You're not alone!

Quilting is one of the fastest growing hobbies in America, but it's also one of the most challenging. Even quilters with years of experience can struggle to match seams and piece quilt blocks accurately.

The fact is, piecing a quilt can be a real challenge

Taking workshops and classes is a terrific way to learn new techniques. Unfortunately learning in a workshop setting can be difficult. You have to drag your machine and all of your supplies across town, assuming of course that you can afford the class in the first place.

Most workshops cost between $35 - $60 just for the teacher fees! You will still need to purchase fabric, tools, special presser feet, and patterns for the class.

The true cost for most quilt shop classes is actually between $100 - $200!

And you're not even guaranteed to learn the techniques by the end!

Quilt PiecingIt's so much easier to learn at home, at your own sewing table, with your tools and materials all in their correct place.

But learning at home from quilting books isn't easy either. Most books just don't have enough photos! You need to clearly see each step, but publishers don't want to mess with that many photos and the ink it costs to print them.

And what books are really worth their salt anyway? Most are solely focused on making quilting fun! fast! and easy! and completely unconcerned with actually teaching you precision piecing.

So you need something new!

You need a piecing book that focuses on each and every step.

You need a piecing book that has more full color photos than pages!

Stitch it Up a Notch: How to Piece Perfect Quilts!

Hi Leah,

First off, let me tell you just how much I've enjoyed your website(s). I've learned SO much watching all your tutorials. It's such an awesome resource!

Because your videos were so good, I decided to buy your ebook. I went through it and pieced a nine-patch quilt for my dog. It's winter and he might get cold!

This wasn't my first quilt, but I have to say that the quality of it was MUCH improved from my earlier efforts.

I think the best part about your ebook was you emphasizing the importance of getting everything together exactly, and that the seam ripper is your friend.

Before, I had kind of went at it with the attitude of "how can they expect me to do a better job than this?" which meant that my pieces didn't always line up very well, etc. By spending a little more time matching things up carefully, I made a MUCH better quilt.

So thanks! And thanks from my dog, too.

You're Awesome!

Lisa B.

Hi Leah,

I just got done looking at your video and here is what I see:

The angle of the camera was great!  Could see everything when you were sewing.  (It must have been mounted right above your head!). Excellent to use darker thread so we could see what you were doing!

Overall.....I thought is was great!!

I’m Jo, 36, new to quilting, done a twin sized scrappy bargello and more recently a queen sized design of my own, and having had no one to teach me, I relied on ye olde YouTube.

There are tons of ‘how to quilt’ videos out there, and seriously… typing ‘how to quilt’ into it will get you all sorts of videos. Yours REALLY do stand out.

You have a very calm way about you, an excellent teaching style, as well as (on a very practical note) really good clear and steady camera angles and good lighting.

I learned how to stipple from you, and although I’m new to it, and scared to go hog wild just yet, I got the darning foot and took a stab at it, all thanks to your video on the subject.

Please don’t stop doing what you do.

Jo

Leah,

You most certainly are a damned fine quilter. I found you on youtube and you taught me to bind (I think). So you are a damned fine teacher too! Congrats on the ribbons. The Duchess is one hell of an achievement!!!
