Tree Landscape Quilt
Created Winter 2007
This
is a quilt of my son's birthday. James
was born at the end of February, on
a wet, rainy day. The whole world outside
my window was gray and cloudy, and I
can remember thinking how absolutely
beautiful it was. Though ominous, the
black tree is not meant to be threatening.
It's merely a reminder that death and
life are eternally linked. The lightening
of the sky shows that morning is on
it's way, bringing the hope of a new
day back to the world.
